Carers groups
Care for the Carers runs a range of carers groups. Our groups are online and by phone, or face to face. Please check our What’s On calendar for details. If you are a Young Carer or Young Adult Carer, please contact us for more information about our Young Carers and Young Adult Carers groups.
Carers Information and Advice Groups
These groups are for all carers, facilitated by Carer Support Workers, and take place across East Sussex. Groups include a mix of meeting other carers and guest speakers who bring useful information and advice relevant to carers. We facilitate two online groups, one of which is an evening group.
Carers Wellbeing Groups
These groups are regular informal drop-in groups for all carers, with input at some groups from carer support workers, in locations across East Sussex.
Mental Health Carers Support Groups
These groups are for carers supporting an adult over the age of 18 with severe mental illness (SMI).
They are open to those who are already registered with the mental health project and are booked directly with a member of the team. The project runs an ongoing schedule of groups and activities throughout the yr and they are both face to face and online.
Young Adult Carers Groups
Our Young Adult Carers Groups are monthly groups for carers aged 17-25 years, run by carer support workers. To find out the date of the next group, and to request an invitation to the private YAC Facebook group, contact us.
Young Carers Groups
Our Young Carers Groups are monthly groups for carers aged 5-17 years. They are a safe place to have fun, games, jokes and laughter, and make new friends. 5pm-6.30pm.
If you are a young carer, or looking for support for young carers, our young carers service is available for carers aged 5-17 years.
For more information about carers groups run by Care for the Carers and our partners, please contact our Carers Hub.
