Teen Talk Counselling Service available for young carers in East Sussex

The counsellor didn`t judge me or what I say, it was so helpful.

Please note that the Teen Talk service is no longer available from July 2021.

Growing up can be difficult, and caring for someone can make it even harder.

Counselling enables young carers to talk in a confidential space with non-judgemental, trained and experienced counsellors, to build self-esteem and resilience. It can have a positive impact on the way that young carers experience their home and school lives, and can help young carers to manage stress and improve their emotional well-being.

Often young carers are isolated and vulnerable and the counselling reaches out to teenage carers to support them to deal with the emotional impact of their caring role. Caring through the pandemic brings additional challenges to cope with, that will further affect mental health and wellbeing.

Our Teen Talk Young Carers Counselling service is available for 12-18 year-old young carers who live anywhere in East Sussex; up to 12 free counselling sessions are offered. Sessions are currently taking place by phone.. Further information is here and FAQs are available to read here.

If you are a young carer that needs help, or know a young carer who may benefit from counselling contact us by phoning 01323 738390 or email info@cftc.org.uk.

The counselling is funded by BBC Children in Need.       bbc children in need logo
