Support for carers
There are an estimated 34,000 new carers in East Sussex because of the pandemic, bringing the total to 102,000 unpaid carers. Carers have been taking on an average 10 hours more caring a week during the pandemic, and over 70% haven’t had a single day off from caring during this period. This has pushed many carers to breaking point, with carers feeling more stressed, isolated and alone than ever before.
We are there for all carers in East Sussex, offering them support and advice, as well as a chance to have a break from their caring role. Last year over 9,000 carers received support from our services, including direct support, groups, specialist counselling and our activities programme.
With your support we can continue to be there for carers, to ensure no one is left to care alone.
