Carers Week 2026

This Carers Week we are celebrating all amazing carers in East Sussex, thanking them for everything they do. We will be giving carers the chance to connect with each other and have their voices heard.
Carers Week runs from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th June. The week celebrates and recognises the vital contribution made by the UK’s unpaid carers – 1 in 10 of the East Sussex – who look after a relative, friend or neighbour who couldn’t manage without them.
‘Building Carer Friendly Communities’ is this year’s Carers Week theme. This theme focusses on the benefits that carer-friendly spaces, organisations and businesses can have by helping to identify and support carers.

We’re asking carers and the community to come together, to share views and take some time out throughout the week. Carers and their friends and family, partner organisations and local businesses can all get involved to recognise and celebrate carers, and show support.
We will be out and about during the week. Find out more on our What’s On page
As a community it is important that we help identify carers so that they can access information and support. Anyone can become a carer at any time, and it has a huge impact on a person’s life. Find out more here
