24 May 2018
On 4 June 2018, Jennifer Twist, Chief Executive of local East Sussex charity Care for the Carers will be opening the doors to its new pop-up information centre at 41 High Street, Hailsham, BN27 1AN.
Between Monday 4th and Friday 8th June, carers can drop in to see Care for the Carers staff to find out about support and advice available to unpaid carers in East Sussex. Receive information at the shop in person about rights as a carer, wellbeing and information groups in the local area, the East Sussex Carers Card, plus practical and emotional advice they might need.
Free legal advice from Heringtons Solicitors
On Thursday 7 June, drop-in consultations will be available at the pop-up shop with representatives from Heringtons Solicitors. Contact us if you need more information, or visit the shop to find out more.
The grand opening
We are delighted that Hailsham Town Crier, Geoff Rowe, announced the pop up Carers Centre’s opening to Hailsham shoppers earlier this week:
“I’d encourage all unpaid carers in the area to visit,” says Jo Egan, Operations Manager at Care For The Carers. “The aim of the Pop Up Carers Centre is to reach out within our local communities in and around Hailsham,” she says.
“We run a wide range of services for carers, including advice clinics, support groups, counselling, and even social activities such as pamper days, but many of the carers we have contact with say they wish they’d heard about us sooner,” continues Jo.
So do pop in to find out more about the 65,000+ unpaid carers across East Sussex, and how you can support them during the forthcoming national Carers Week, 11-17 June 2018. Financial donations are welcome but we are unable to accept other forms of donations and goods at the shop, which will be open every day from Monday 4 June to Friday 8 June 2018, from 9am – 5pm.
If you’re unable to make it along to the shop that week, carers are always welcome to the regular Hailsham carers groups, facilitated by Care for the Carers:
