Care for the Carers is inviting unpaid carers to discuss the new Adult Social Care Strategy plans.

Background

Together with its residents and partners, East Sussex County Council is developing a long-term plan, its strategy, for adult social care. To understand what really matters to local people, ESCC undertook a survey – ‘Living Well in East Sussex’ (from August to September). The information gained from that survey is the starting point to create a new strategy, to set the direction of adult social care for everyone who has – or will have – care and support needs within the county, the projects and services that support them and their carers and families.

Now, focus groups are being set up with various different stakeholder groups, including unpaid carers, to explore in more detail what people said in the survey.

These focus groups will consider the ‘why’ behind the themes that came out of the survey, looking at what’s important to people and where they’d like to see change or improvements.

Who?

We’re looking for carers to share their thoughts. We are running face to face session in Uckfield Carers Centre and an evening on-line session, we hope the time of this will be particularly suitable for working carers.

Whether you have lots of experience of adult social care – or none at all – we would like to hear from you. Please book now to ensure your place.

Where and When?

Face to face session – Monday 9th January, 1-3pm, Uckfield Local Carers Centre, Victoria Pavilion, New Town, Uckfield TN22 5DJ. Sussex Support Services will be offering free replicate care for the person you care for, who can attend the centre during the focus group. Warm welcome, hot drinks and refreshments will be available.
