Do you want to try something new?
Have you thought about trying something new this year? How about joining us as a volunteer? We are looking for new volunteers to join our team to support carers in East Sussex.
We have a choice of volunteering opportunities available. Maybe one of these roles could be your just what you’re looking for!
We are currently looking for volunteers for these projects:
Young Carers
Our Young Carer groups take place one evening a mouth. They provide young carers aged between 8-16 the opportunity to have some fun and mix with other young carers. We are launching a new club in Bexhill starting in April, and need volunteers to join us at this new group. We also have Young Carer groups in Eastbourne and Uckfield which would welcome new volunteers!
Carers in Touch
Our Carers In Touch volunteers have regular phone calls with carers to have a friendly chat, make sure they are coping and find out if they need any further support. Volunteers help to reduce carers’ isolation, and a chance to have a break from their caring role. You can be a Carers in touch volunteer from the comfort of your own home and choose a weekly two hour slot that best suits you (Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm).
“Knowing how isolated carers can be, the Carers in Touch project provides carers with the space to open up and share what they are feeling. It gives carers the chance to unburden themselves, which might not be possible to do with those closest to them.
It feels rewarding to know that I’m making a difference to someone’s day”
