Care for the Carers is seeking to recruit to new posts supporting its work to reach unpaid carers across East Sussex.

Young Carers Counsellor (freelance)

Are you a qualified counsellor who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young carers? 

Care for the Carers is excited to launch Teen Talk, a new counselling service for 12-18 year-old carers.  We are seeking to appoint two freelance Young Carers Counsellors to deliver after school counselling sessions in Hastings and Rother.

The successful applicants will have a minimum of 2 year’s post-qualification clinical experience, experience of working with children and young people, and an understanding of the potential impact of being a young carer on mental health and wellbeing. 

4 counselling sessions per week, during term time 

£40 per counselling session

Young Carers Counselling Administrator

The Young Carers Counselling Administrator will provide administrative support to the delivery of a safe, professional and accessible counselling service for young carers, liaising with young carers, counsellors, and venue and transport providers, and inputting monitoring and evaluation records on a database.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing administrative support and maintaining records within a database, the ability to prioritise workload, and excellent communication and IT skills.

7.5 hours per week

Salary: £3,810 per annum

Community Development Worker

The Community Development Worker will build visibility of the Carers Centre within localities, developing local partnerships, representing carers’ voices within community forums, and increasing reach to hidden carers.

The successful applicant will be a skilled communicator with excellent IT and organisational skills. Experience of undertaking community development work is essential, as is an understanding of carers’ needs and rights. As you will be required to travel within East Sussex, being a car driver is essential.

37 hours per week

Salary: £21,589 per annum

Communications Officer

The Communications Officer will raise the profile of Care for the Carers and East Sussex carers, through a range of media platforms, publications and our website, enabling us to reach more carers and to raise awareness.
The successful applicant will be organised and a skilled communicator, with excellent writing and IT skills and an eye for design. Experience of working with press and media is essential, as is the ability to produce attractive and relevant information materials.

37 hours per week

Salary: £24,313 per annum

Engagement Administrator

The Engagement Administrator will provide administrative support to Care for the Carers projects and its Senior Management Team, communicating with carers and stakeholders, and organising meetings, events and activities.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing administrative support at a senior level, excellent communication and IT skills, and the ability to prioritise workload according to organisational needs.

10 hours per week

Salary: £5,285 per annum
