East Sussex Parent Carer Forum (ESPCF)

East Sussex Parent Carer Forum is the new forum for parent carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in East Sussex. They work together to ensure every parent carer feels that their voice and experiences matter and contribute towards developing and improving services to bring about positive change for SEND families.

East Sussex Young Carers

East Sussex Young Carers supports Young Carers aged 5-18 who care for a family member with long-term illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse issues. Following assessment, ESYC offers short-term interventions including signposting, one-to-one support and workshops. During Coronavirus, they have continued to support Young Carers via telephone, email and video chat.

British Red Cross

Home from Hospital and Carers Crisis Response

Home from Hospital is for those who live alone and/or have caring responsibilities following discharge from hospital. CCRS provides practical and emotional support to carers in crisis. Within both services Volunteers are able to carry out practical tasks, companionship, carer respite and much more.

Culture Shift

Culture Shift delivers a diverse portfolio of projects, working with a wide range of beneficiaries including children and young people, disabled people and families and carers. They also facilitate engagement and co-design projects and provide training and research and evaluation.

DISC Dementia Support

DISC Dementia Support provides a support service for the carers of people with Dementia throughout East Sussex. Louise and Emma from DISC Dementia Support have over 10 years of experience in supporting people with Dementia and their carers, both personally and professionally. They both have experience in setting up and running dementia services for a national charity as well as setting up a smaller community voluntary service.

Healthwatch East Sussex is an independent voice for the people of East Sussex. They are here to understand the lived experiences of people who use health and social care services in the county. St Peter and St James Hospice

They provide expert and compassionate hospice care to adults living in Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Uckfield, Lewes and the surrounding villages. They also support their families and friends through the challenges of bereavement and grief.

Care for the Carers

Care for the Carers is the Carers Centre for East Sussex. We have been supporting and representing unpaid carers in East Sussex since 1989. Our team of staff and volunteers provide free practical and emotional advice and we run carers support groups. We represent carers and raises awareness of caring, working with local communities, organisations and service providers to build a carer friendly East Sussex.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
