There are a range of respite options available to carers in East Sussex, as follows:

  • Set up the Flexi-TeleCheck service to get short-term remote support (more information here)
  • Emergency respite through Carers Respite Emergency Support Scheme (CRESS) (more details here).
  • Association of Carers run a Befriending with Respite service
  • British Red Cross run a Support at Home service
  • Carers Breaks & Engagement Team (CBET) provide flexible and responsive short term interventions to enable adults with care and support needs to access their community to reduce social isolation and/or support carers to take a break from their caring responsibities.
  • Respite may be provided as part of a care package following Adult Social Care having assessed a carer’s needs and the needs of the person they care for.
