Carers events coming up

We have a lot of events coming up for carers in East Sussex. All of them are free for carers to attend. Take a look below.

Carers drop-in day

Carers are invited to a drop-in day full of creativity, conversation and a delicious lunch on Thursday 2nd September. Have some time for yourself and meet other carers in a relaxed space. Free. Mayors charities event, Seaford

Come along to a day of music, dance, food, sport, family fun and a picnic area and support this Mayor’s event for local charities in Seaford. Takes place on Sunday 5th September, 10am-4pm at Martello Fields, Seaford. We will have a stand here, so come by and say hello. Free entry. More information and map here.

Learn to bake tasty goodies

Carers are invited to join Community Chef, Robin Van Creveld, for a five-week baking course. Learn to bake savoury muffins, stromboli, tarts and pies, cinnamon buns, bagels and much more! Class sizes are small and it’s a great way to meet other people. The course starts on Thursday 23rd September through to 21st October, 10.30am-2.30pm, and takes place at the Lewes Community Kitchen which is close to public transport. Young Carers Club

Our Young Carers Club is on 7th September 2021 and the first Tuesday of every month. It’s a club for all young carers in East Sussex, aged 8-17 years, with arts, crafts, games and activities and the chance to meet other young carers. Online Wellbeing Cruise

A free, Wellbeing Cruise workshop for carers is available on Wednesday 8th September 2021, 1pm-3pm. Join this wellbeing session to unwind, explore wellbeing and connect with other carers. Online using Zoom. More information and booking details here.

Wellbeing courses (WRAP)

Join Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) courses for parent carers and carers. There are two, separate courses and both start on Monday 13th September. The courses are free, six-week, online wellbeing courses that provide a safe and confidential space to share experiences and learn from other carers, explore ways of managing health and wellbeing, create action plans for when life gets challenging, plus much more. How to age well in the 21st century

Organised by Rother District Council, this event focuses on ageing well in the 21st century and improving your mental and physical wellbeing to stay active and enjoy life. 14th September 2021, 3pm – 5.30pm at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea. Free. More information about the activities here.

Photography course for carers 

Join a free photography workshop for carers starting in October, working with local photographer John Cole. You can use a camera or a good mobile camera, and if you don’t have one we can provide one. All levels welcome. Contact us to book a place and find out more here
