Join Care for the Carers and Sussex Community Development Association and for a weekly walk plus activities
to boost your emotional and physical wellbeing. 

Being outdoors and taking a walk is such a good way to take some time out for YOU!

Meeting Place: Tennis in the Park Café, Gildredge Park (Free car park off Eastbourne Road and next to tennis courts), Eastbourne, BN21 1HD

Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm Thursdays (walk ending around 11.30am and then going to a café for a free cuppa and a chat – if you need to leave earlier that’s not a problem. We will meet even in poor weather and indoor activities will be provided)

Dates: Starting 19th April and running weekly until 7th June 2018. Come along to any or all of the walks, but booking is essential as places are limited. Some walks wheelchair accessible.

A listen to our British birds, and an attempt to learn to identify five songs!

Photographic walk around Gildredge Park - bring a camera or binoculars

A walk around the local park, take some pictures, learn to focus on elements on your surroundings that you would otherwise take for granted.

Walk around Gildredge Park, followed by a picnic in the park (if raining we’ll use the Town Hall training room)

Picnic – learn some recipes for yummy quick nibbles that can be packed into a lunch and taken anywhere.

Mindfulness walk around Gildredge Park and stopping in the sensory garden

Mindfulness – looking at your internal and external experiences. Great self-awareness exercise.

Nature art walk around Gildredge Park

Nature art can be beautiful and also very relaxing.

June 7th


Walk around Gildredge Park, celebratory week – you decide what you want to do – an activity? Have a chat and coffee at the park café?  

A walk around the local park. We will be handing out packs with useful information and chat about the things you have enjoyed. This final week will give you the chance to celebrate the past eight weeks.

About the walks

  • All walks are around 45-60 mins, and are suitable for most levels of fitness.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day, and shoes that are comfortable to walk in.
  • You may want to bring water to drink on the walk; a free drink at the café is included.
  • If you have any specific requirements, please contact Care for the Carers before the session.
