Free counselling for carers receives quality recognition
20 June 2019
Care for the Carers’ Time to Talk Counselling Service is now officially accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Our Time to Talk Counselling Service received its BACP accreditation in June 2019 and we’re very proud to announce it is one of only two services accredited in East Sussex (the other is the Sussex Community Development Association counselling service in Newhaven).
Service accreditation is a recognised quality standard for organisations providing counselling and psychotherapy services. As a BACP Accredited Service, Care for the Carers has successfully demonstrated that we offer an accountable, ethical, professional and responsive service to clients and professionals.
About Time to Talk counselling
“We are delighted that our counselling service is now accredited by the BACP. This assures clients, counsellors and professionals of clinical excellence,” says Siwan Leach, Counselling Coordinator at Care for the Carers.
“The service is very well run and very professional,” agrees one of the charity’s volunteer counsellors.
A carer receiving help from the free counselling programme explains some of the ways the counselling benefited them: “It was extremely helpful having the opportunity to talk to the counsellor about the problems and stresses of my life and anything else that I wanted to talk about. I am very grateful to Care for the Carers for the opportunity,…just having someone to tell my problems helped.”
