NHS Carers Direct has this week launched national awareness campaign entitled Who Cares? The overall aim is to encourage carers to visit Carers Direct identify themselves as carers, and seek help or they can call their helpline on 0808 802 0202. The campaign will run for two months and is the largest, dedicated campaign of its kind that has ever been undertaken.
The campaign will include adverts and articles in the national press and posters in pharmacies, hospitals and post offices, so do keep your eyes peeled. Carers Direct are also mailing GP surgeries, Citizens Advice Bureaux, UK Online Centres and will have a number of bookmarks going into libraries across England.
The Princess Royal Trust for Carers (PRTC) is supporting the campaign and hopes that it will reach many ‘hidden’ carers. Carers Direct will be encouraging carers to contact carers centres in the PRTC network, like Care for the Carers so we are looking forward to meeting more new East Sussex carers.
When you have visited or contacted Carers Direct, why not let us know what you think?
