What We Do
Care for the Carers is the Carers’ Centre for East Sussex, affiliated to the Princess Royal Trust for Carers’ national network of Carers’ Centres.
Care for the Carers exists to support and empower carers in East Sussex by maintaining an interrelated package of projects and services that are values-led and have been developed to meet the expressed needs of East Sussex carers.

Services also reflect National legislation, research and best practice from among others: PRTC, the Kings Fund, Carers UK, Central and Local Government, and particularly the policy direction outlined in ‘Our Health Our Care Our Say’ and ‘Putting People First’

Organisational Aims:
- To empower carers to be involved in decisions and making choices that affect their lives.
- To ensure that carers are recognised and valued.
- To inform carers of their rights and help them to access the services and support to which they are entitled.
- To enable carers to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding of their role as a carer.
- To enable carers to access a good quality of life within and outside caring (to include health and well-being, leisure, education and employment)
